Whew!

Well it's been a while since my last post.  I started getting busy and I just didn't feel like logging in and posting when I got home.  Part of the reason I started this blog was to create another form of self accountability, so I'll be making a stronger effort to post more frequently.  I'm not sure if a daily post is necessary, but at least three times a week should help to keep me on track.
I've been working more often for the agent who pays me to do CMAs for him.  He recently asked me to put my business on hold and come work for him full time.  I was flattered by his appreciation of my work, and I really considered accepting his offer.  However, after counseling with some of my trusted friends and mentors, I chose to continue building my own business.  I'm just not an employee kind of guy.  My agent friend is currently on vacation, but I'll be phasing myself out of working for him when he returns.
On another note, things seem to be picking up lately.  I've worked two floor sessions in the last two weeks, and I've had two good calls in each session.  I'm currently having conversations with seven prospective buyers and four potential sellers.  2011 is shaping up to be a good one!

Busy, busy, busy...hopefully it pays off!

Wow!  I haven't posted since Monday!!  That's not good.  I've been going non-stop, and it still doesn't feel like I'm accomplishing everything that I have to do everyday.  I'm still spending a couple of hours a day working with that other agent who pays me to help him.  It's going well and I'm learning a lot about the organization of the systems he uses to support his business.  He's also been pretty impressed with my work, and he keeps talking about "going into business together".  I'm not really sure what he has in mind just yet.  I've been burned in the past by going into business with somebody else, so I'm a little leery about having that conversation right now.  For the time being, I'm picking up all kinds of good habits and systems that I am immediately applying to my own business.  The relationship had thus far been very beneficial, so I guess I'll just have to wait and see what transpires.  LOL...it sounds like I'm dating someone!  Maybe there are a lot of similarities between a business relationship and a dating relationship.
In other areas I'm starting to gain momentum again.  I've started-up my mastery group again, THE MEGA FACTORY.  It helps me to stay in "real estate shape" for my presentations and interactions with potential clients.  I'm glad to be back on the field, so to speak.  I'm also very close to having a signed around deal for one of my owner contract buyers.  This has been a great learning experience, and it will probably help me to bring in an additional $10k-$20k a year if I can continue to help other buyers in similar situations.  Yet another lesson learned from the agent I have been helping.  Hmmm...it makes me wonder, who's really helping who here?
